Retaliation Against Physicians - Azzam N. Ahmed, M.D.

Ahmed v. University Hospitals

Dr. Ahmed presented evidence that the revocation of his privileges coincided with UH Geauga granting privileges to three OB/GYN physicians associated with UPCP, a group affiliated with UHHS, who moved their practice to a location near Dr. Ahmed’s Geauga County office shortly thereafter. He contended that UHHS preferred the UPCP physicians to independent practitioners because they would refer patients to other doctors and facilities within the UHHS system, and because the patient-doctor relationship would be more profitable to UHHS if the referrals were to UPCP employee/affiliates.
